This nation's capitol is one of the most protected buildings in the country. Being that the leaders of our nation have said the presidential oath there and the Capitol building is home to the United States Congress, it also has another side. A partying side surprisingly. Since 4th of July and Memorial weekend are creeping up, many concerts are being held on the Capitol grounds. The parties have gotten a little out of hand in the past years and the U.S Capitol police have had enough. They sent a letter to congress sometime in March calling for the big changes, such as paying attendees extra for coolers containing alcohol and to make the events more safe and try not to cause any embarrassment to Congress. The parties are hosted by lawmakers, U.S Capitol officials and concert organizer inside the Statuary Hall and on the upper balconies of the Capitol's west front. The number of people attending these concerts have grown each year which is causing people to venture into restricted areas in the historic building. It's making the police's job impossible to keep everyone safe. The new changes would lower the number of people attending parties on the balconies and hopefully changing the venue to the Botanical Gardens. It's crazy how even our nation's capital building has a wild side.
